Grants Pass Show March 28th-29th, 2015

Posted on March 31, 2015 at 3:45 PM

Wonderful show in Grants Pass Oregon! I showed two Mini Lop solid Jr. does and one broken Jr. doe. Came home with two Best of Breeds with homegrown BC's Laugh Out Loud. Couldn't have asked for a better time! It was great to work behind the judging tables. I clerked for Tans, French Lops, Beverens, Mini Lops and a couple of other breeds. Thank you to all the judges, show secretaries and exhibitors for making it an awesome show!

Broken C Rabbitry has also been featured in the "Homestead" magazine! Page five, Dyson our Sr. California buck has the big picture! You can also see some Mini Lop Jr’s. from Makin Bacon's litter. The article turned out really well! I will try to upload it to the website sometime.

Ahh. Another show here and gone!

You know that feeling when it's the weekend after a show and you look back and think "my rabbits are awesome". Yeah, that's the bunny spirit in you! Or if you don't show rabbits you could just be thinking how awesome they are when they jump around all cute, learn tricks or just being a rabbit. Anyways, this past weekend I was at a rabbt show, St. Helens to be exact. It was great to see all my bunny friends! Although, some were missing... Including Sarah at TSC Rabbitry. But she'll come eventually. My rabbits did great, took home a best of breed and best opposite in Californians, for Mini Lops I got Best Jr. buck, Best Jr. doe (almost BOV!) and Best runner up for Sr. bucks.

I started a website and facebook page for my miniature Australian Shepherds and Miniature Nubians. Its currently BrokenCMinis.webs.com but I think it will be changing soon.

Lots of JR Mini Lops coming up and and a litter of Californians in the nest box. This year keeps getting better and better! We did have a sad loss in the rabbitry, Rosie ended up passing away. She was with a 3.5 week old litter but they are doing just fine. :( It's always sad to hold rabbits on their last breaths, or any animals for that matter. But I am happy to say her litter is great! And they have a awesome sire so my fingers are crossed they will hit the show tables running!

It is now time to prepare for the California State convention in Turlock! I may only be showing two Mini Lops, but rabbit shows are to fun to pass up!

Q: Who needs a bunny? ... A: Who doesn't??

Things are starting to move along here at Broken C Rabbitry. I have a couple litters of Mini Lops in the nest box I am excited to see grow out. Some cool colors are in there also. Torts, blues, and more! Don't breed for colors here but man they are cool to have. Also have two Californian does due the 19th, so that is coming up. Our two baby goats are starting to run around. They were born the 14th, one doe and one buck. Fun fun fun!

Also have some eight week old mini lops, thought they were six. ;) So some will be going to their new homes, some will be staying here a bit longer! Check in for availability.

Guess what??? We will be attending the St Helens show the 31st! Should be a great way to start the year, lots of friends will be there. And of course lots of rabbits!

Starting the New Year 01/06/15

Time to start the year with a BANG! With the national ARBA Convention here and gone, rabbit shows starting soon I sit here and think of what a great year it has been. This year at nationals I was amazed when my Mini Lops placed in the top ten areas, knowing that all the hard work is really paying off. I am already planning breeding’s of Mini Lops and Californians for the coming nationals the end of 2015.

My rabbitry is successfully getting bigger, of course it is all thanks to the rabbits and the wonderful breeders that helped me get started in the great hobby. It really is a lot of fun! From cleaning cages all the way to rabbit shows.

I am going to try and start this "blog" thing. My plan is to write about rabbit like events and shows that are attended. This will also help me keep a record of what happens, when and how! Well... For the most part at least. Guess what??? We now have a youtube channel! Check it out to see videos of the awesome rabbitry, Mini Lops, and Californians. You should also follow our rabbitry page on facebook!

Best wishes with the new year! I hope it is spectacular for you!
